The latest move comes as Amazon continues to expand its offerings to compete with rivals like Apple in the subscription music space.

Amazon Music’s subscriber count is not publicly available, but in January 2020 the company noted that it had “more than 55 million customers worldwide.” This was after the company started offering free streaming without a Prime subscription in November 2019.

Steve Boom, Vice President of Music at Amazon Told the FinancialTimes in January 2020 that “almost all” of its subscribers at the time were paying users.
