4 Taylor Swift Songs That Deserve A Short Film
Taylor Swift was a game-changer for music videos. We only want one more video clip. We are now looking for short films. Then again, this is the name of the game when it comes to Taylor Swift and trends.
In particular, the short film of “All Too Well” captivated fans since it featured the 10-minute version of the song. It also showcased the talents of Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink as well as Taylor herself. The movie took such a complex story and gave us everything we wanted in under 20 minutes.
There are still a few more albums for Taylor to re-record, so it’s only fitting that we look back to see what other songs would make great shorts. At this point, it seems like nothing can beat “All Too Good”. Still, it’s fun to look back on the other albums she hasn’t re-recorded yet and see which songs deserve their short.
I’d like to know what Taylor Swift songs you’d like to see have their short film. There are a ton of songs to choose from. It’s really crazy to think of how many songs Taylor has recorded throughout his career and how many of those songs don’t belong to him.
Let’s start with her debut album, “Taylor Swift”.
Taylor’s debut album never gets the credit it deserves. This album started it all. Considering this album introduced me to Taylor, it still has a special place in my heart. This is why it was so difficult to determine which song deserves a short film from its debut.
The song that lends itself the most to short films is “Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)” which is quite a love story told throughout one song. It features a couple who meet when they are children and then fall in love. It’s such a beautiful song and does a great job of showing the longevity of a relationship. This song has so much potential to be a beautiful, well-done short film if given the chance.
Moving on to Taylor’s third album, “Speak Now” is a treasure trove of success.
“Speak Now” is one of those albums that had a ton of music videos. Even so, I would be right to present only one song and it is “Enchanted”. This song has exploded on the Internet. As well as being so popular, the song is also beautifully written, romantic, and tells the story of meeting someone and wanting to get to know them better. It would be interesting to see how Taylor decides to tell this story because there are a lot of ways to go.
A few years ahead, “1989” is another tough contender.
“1989” is another potential Taylor Swift re-recording. The music videos from that time were top notch so it wasn’t easy. Thinking back to the album, some might even argue that “Bad Blood” was his short film while the other clips were just plain cinematic.
However, after listening to the album again, the song that stood out was “Clean”. This song is about being in a relationship, breaking up, and then finally feeling clean after it’s over. Honestly, the visuals for this one would be out of this world. There could be rain showers, a waterfall, or even just a shower, but knowing the mind of Taylor Swift, she would have found something even better.
Last but not least, “Reputation” might have the best short film of all.
Moving on to the final album, the song that immediately occurred to me was “Getaway Car”, which probably isn’t surprising at all. This song is basically about falling in love with someone else and realizing that everything is always going to fall apart and burn. It’s a feeling we can all relate to. This one could be action-packed and intense while still presenting an interesting storyline in the background. The lyrics also bring everything in this song to life. “Getaway Car” is the only answer that comes to mind when it comes to shorts for “Reputation”.
Overall, Taylor Swift’s ability to write story songs is amazing. There is no shortage of songs that we would love to see get his short film.
