5 events to discover during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction week


CLEVELAND, Ohio – The induction ceremony at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on October 30 marks one of the biggest events in Rock Hall history with major names including Foo Fighters, LL Cool, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney and d ‘others. It’s the culmination of a week of Rock Hall themed festivities.

Celebration day

When: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 24

What: A full day of activities, including live music, fireworks, showcases for local businesses in Rock Hall Square, and free museum entry for Ohio residents. (Outdoor activities are free for all). The Rock Hall will also host ‘The Festival Village’, an area in the square where visitors can purchase clothes and music from the Rock Hall store and local vendors. Keep Music Alive will host a petting zoo and Hungry for Music will accept used instruments for its donation collection. All donors will be entered into a raffle to win tickets for the induction ceremony.

Inductee exhibition

When: 10 a.m., Sunday, October 24

What: Also on the day of celebration, Rock Hall will unveil its 2021 Inductee Exhibit, featuring artifacts from members of this year’s class. Item listing includes 1968 Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl’s Lucite Dan Armstrong Ampeg guitar, Randy Rhoads’ Jackson / Rhoads Concorde asymmetric Flying V guitar, Tina Turner’s “Private Dancer” red dress, Baldwin Acrosonic black piano Carole King Spruce Top and a 96-inch 72-oil portrait on loan from Jay-Z. Again, entry to Rock Hall on October 24 is free for all Ohio residents. However, you still need to book your ticket time online.

CLE Rocks Presents … Tina Turner and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (a live podcast recording event) will be held at the Music Box Supper in the Flats on October 27.

“Stories from Tina Turner’s Legendary Shows in Cleveland of the 80s and 90s”

When: 7 p.m. Wednesday October 27

Or: Music Box Supper Club (1148 Main Avenue)

What: FREE event featuring a panel of special guests and local music experts who have witnessed Tina Turner’s return to solo stardom on her travels through Northeast Ohio. The panel includes legendary rock and roll photographer Janet Macoska, Barry Gabel, head of marketing and sponsorship sales for Live Nation Cleveland, Michael Gallucci, editor of Ultimate Classic Rock, and Nwaka Onwusa, vice president and chief curator of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The event will be hosted by cleveland.com reporter Troy L. Smith and recorded as part of the CLE Rocks podcast. The event is free. Book your table on the Music Box’s website.

Rock Hall evenings

When: 5 p.m. Thursday, October 28

Or: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

What: 2021 Inductee-themed party with DJ, costume contest, museum tour from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., anecdotes, food, drinks, inductee jams in the museum’s interactive garage and more. Tickets cost $ 21.


Members of The Go-Go will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland on October 30.

The interview and the signing of the Go-Go book

When: Friday noon 29 October

Or: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Union Home Mortgage Plaza

What: This is the only event announced (so far) that features a true inductee at the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Members of The Go-Go’s will be on hand to celebrate the release of drummer Gina Schock’s new book ” Made In Hollywood: All Access with The Go-Go’s ”and participate in a question-and-answer session. The event will end with the signing of the signature panel of the 2021 Inductees at 3 p.m. The event is sold out, but Rock Hall will be showing it on the museum’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
