On June 18 and 19, the Poughkeepsie Open Studios The Art Walk event will return to the Dutchess County town, allowing local artists to show off their work and attendees to enjoy it while meeting the creators and each other.

Launched in 2015, Poughkeepsie Open Studios is recognized as a free event that allows art lovers to personally interact with many of the exemplary artists who work and live in the Poughkeepsie area. Self-guided tour visitors can visit artist studios, galleries, arts organizations, temporary pop-up spaces and other related locations to learn about the creative processes, inspirations and techniques of participating artists. At the same time, event-goers can get a taste of the rich history and great cultural diversity of the Poughkeepsie community and the beauty of the area. In addition to visual arts, the two-day happening promises live performances and other activities.

Featured artists this year (and more to be added) include Alvin Chiappolini, Anita Kiewra, Art Jones, Hyde Park Artist Collective, Barbara Todd, Bipesh Korala, Imani Jones, Joel Brown, Emmanuel Ofori, Liz O ‘Raffity and the Wise Owls Factory, Matthew Blot, Nikki Hung, Penny Dell and many more.

Poughkeepsie Open Studios will take place throughout Poughkeepsie on June 18 and 19 from 1-5 p.m. Check the website for the full list of artists, participating venues and more information.
