Santa Fe Art Gallery Opens Natural Beauty Exhibit July 1

Local artists, young and old, will have the opportunity to present their works through the Natural Beauty exhibition throughout the next month.

The exhibition is a collaboration between the Santa Fe College Art Gallery and the SF Teaching Zoo and will feature paintings, prints, photographs, ceramics and sculptural works from the “natural world”.

Some of the featured artists will be John Moran, Wendy Free, Deb Lindberg and Vicki Santello.

The gallery is free and open to the public. It will run from July 1 to August 5. The Santa Fe Gallery, located at 3000 NW 83 St. in Gainesville, will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special weekend hours will take place on July 23 and 24. coinciding with Zookeeper’s Day at the SF teaching zoo.

Earlier this year, the educational zoo celebrated another five years of certification of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The zoo is the only educational zoo to receive this professional accreditation.

In addition to the Natural Beauty exhibit, the Santa Fe Teaching Zoo is also partnering with Gainesville Inspiration for a Paint Party at the zoo. Artists as young as 13 can Register for the guided painting event and create their own works of art.

The event will take place July 10 at 10 a.m. at the Santa Fe Teaching Zoo. There will be a $25 registration fee for admission to the zoo.
