Somi reveals she has ‘a lot more’ music to come
Somi has opened up about the year-long wait for her latest single ‘Dumb Dumb’ and hinted at plans for future releases.
In a new interview with Korea JoongAng Daily, the Korean-Canadian singer revealed she was “nervous” to release her new song, citing her long absence from the music. His last single before “Dumb Dumb” was “What You Waiting For”, which was released over a year ago.
“I’m a little nervous because it’s been a year [since my last release]. I really missed the stage, ”said Somi. “I have prepared myself so much over the past year that I am full of expectations and excitement. Since the preparation process has been so smooth, I wonder how much I will love to perform on stage and how happy I will be.
Somi went on to explain what she had done in the year between her outings, revealing that she had been busy in the dance and recording studio. “I spent the last year practicing and recording a lot of songs besides ‘Dumb Dumb’,” the singer said. “We have completed the entire registration process, and there is a lot more to come.”
However, Somi has kept a low profile on the release date of these other songs. The singer made her long-awaited solo debut in August 2019 with “Birthday,” about two and a half years after her former band IOI broke up in early 2017.
In other K-pop news, South Korean girl group Red Velvet has finally shared a teaser for their long-awaited and highly anticipated comeback “Queendom”. The disc will contain six songs and will be released on August 16 at 6 p.m. KST.
