Total loans from HDFC Bank in Assam exceed Rs 7,000cr
Guwahati, Apr 7 (PTI) HDFC Bank said on Thursday that its total advances in Assam had increased by more than 12% over the past year and passed the Rs 7,000 crore mark.
As of December 31, 2021, the lender’s total advances, including all loans to various clients in the retail, corporate, MSME and microfinance sectors, in the North Eastern State amounted to 7,008 crore rupees.
The bank’s total lending increased by 12.81% over the past year from Rs 6,212 crore as of December 31, 2020, it said in a statement.
The lender claimed it was the largest private sector bank in Assam with a market share of 7.54% in total advances. It also has an 8.72% market share among private lenders in the MSME priority sector.
Commenting on the development, Sandeep S Kumar, Head of HDFC Bank Banking Branch (East), said, “We are grateful to our customers for giving us the opportunity to serve the people of Assam. We are happy to be a partner in growth and fueling economic activity. in Assam.” The bank has deposits of Rs 9,085 crore, which together with the advances, represents a total business of Rs 16,000 crore in the state.
